Holiday Inn Gloucester - Cheltenham

Crest Way, Barnwood, Gloucester GL4 3RX, UK – 0871 942 9034

Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite nice and quiet. The location can be good if you're in the area for business at the industrial/business park otherwise it's a little out of the way from anything that's more central to Gloucester. That being said, it's not too far to walk to get the bus to the centre. On the plus side, it being out of the way means that it is in a quiet location. The breakfast was a standard selection of items. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Hotel well positioned for all tourist destinations lovely hotel very clean all departments excellent. Staff very friendly and very helpful and made our stay very memorable. Highly recommended.

Hotel ibis Gloucester

Corinium Ave, Barnwood, Gloucester GL4 3DG, UK – 01452 623650

Another great stay, food in the restaurant was lovely. Only thing in the room's they need an extra bin in the room as well as the bathroom. Great location for the center, just across the road through the housing estate is a bus stop opposite the garage, number 10 bus on a day tripper ticket was £3.70 return, much cheaper than a taxi which is anything from £10 up one way.

OK, not great. Food is OK as well, did have to wait but was busy that particular evening. Rooms quiet enough on 3rd floor from nearby main road traffic. Blinds adequate but as a light sleeper not great. Staff good and helpful though.

Premier Inn Gloucester Barnwood

Centre Seven, Gloucester GL4 3HR, UK – 0871 527 8456

As a regular user of premier hotels, I am usually always pleased with their standards, this one however exceeds the norm. Easy to find. Good parking (free), clean and pleasant hotel and they've even put the bath the right way round so as you can watch telly whilst chilling in the bath. The adjoining pub is fantastic. Welcoming, comfortable with great food and great staff. Prices are reasonable too.

Very enjoyable stay. Room very clean. Therevis some building work taking place at the moment but didn't cause ca problem. Nice pub with good food next door.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The King Edward VII

47 Old Cheltenham Rd, Longlevens, Gloucester GL2 0AN, UK – 01452 381273

Reasonably priced food. Most of the largish party that I was with enjoyed their meal. Unfortunately, my pea and asparagus risotto was not pleasantly soupy but could be cut with a knife!

A very comfortable place to have a meal. Well decorated. Staff are great and welcoming. Lovely pub food. Only negative is the odd wobbly table.

The Turmut-Hoer

Mead Rd, Abbeymead, Gloucester GL4 5GL, UK – 01452 627918

Breakfast was nothing but pure AWESOME. Proper breakfast well cooked and fresh. More importantly we'll cooked. Cant remember having such a good breakfast. I had the sizzling breakfast at £ 4.99 was excellent, pity that the service is found wanting.

A really nice place were to have a drink. Food was very good.

The Greyhound (Marstons)

Greyhound Gardens, Longlevens, Gloucester GL2 0XH, UK – 01452 506107

Travelling down to the South West, thinking of somewhere for lunch we were really pleased to come across The Greyhound so close to Junction 11 of the M5. Very comfortable bar and grill, excellent value for money ~ well worth coming off the motorway for 😊

GOOD SERVICE! Friendly staff and nice food! Also good amount of space for family meals and even nice size beer garden

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Premier Inn Gloucester Little Wicombe

Ermin Way, Little Witcombe, Gloucester GL3 4SS, UK – 0871 527 8458

It's in a relatively quiet location and conveniently has a Beefeater next door.....for those that can get a second mortgage to pay their prices !.....the car parking spaces can comfortably fit a mini or Ford Ka in them...The rest of us just scratch and ding each other's doors trying to get in and out of our cars !....The lack of air conditioning in the hotel on the hottest night of the year was a great trip down memory lane....so was the lack of a lift. The place was very clean and cared for, no gripes on those issues. The rooms have have decent sized T.V,s beds and a good supply of tea and coffee that make for a comfortable stay.

Nice quaint Premier Inn next to a Beefeater which acts as the restaurant for the hotel. Rooms of a good size and decent parking. Only drawback was lack of air conditioning which in England is not usually as issue, but in a heatwave it is. Good WiFi in the room we stayed at and you will need it as poor 4g indoors.

Premier Inn Gloucester Business Park

Whittle Way, Brockworth, Gloucester GL3 4AJ, UK – 0871 527 8462

The best premier inn we have ever stayed at. We arrived late with two very young tired children and the reception staff couldn't have been more friendly. Our 3 year old immediately cheered up when we got to our room and he was greeted with a minion picture to colour in and a packet of animal crackers hidden under the bed! My 1 year old was equally excited by the Barney bear in her cot :) upon checking out my son was given an icelolly by the lovely man on reception. Never had this service before at a Premier Inn. Would definitely stay again if passing through

On the child's bed they had left them a set of Cadbury animal biscuits and lovely letter...Thanks so much.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Absolutely brilliant site for either stopover or longer stay, clean and reasonable price, very helpful Warden's, will definitely stop again.:)

Lovely clean site, we have our own toilet and shower on board, so have not seen the site facilities. Very friendly, not too busy ,so plenty of room, but perhaps when full in the summer season, would feel a bit cosy. The road and railway line are very close , but didn't spoil our stay. Would come again .
